Today a little insight in maids life. Once a week it is genereal maintenance day. A maid has to be reminded about her position through a little bit of discipline. And also all her faults she was doing in her behaviour are "discussed" on this day.
One of the duties of a maid is to help the ladies getting dressed. Of course even nowadays they have to know how to lace corset.
By the way to improve maids behaviour she was fitted with a latex mask as you can see on this picture. She had to wear that 24 hours a day.
And a little bit later, maid was fitted with some nice high ballet boots. I expect also from my maids a perfect apperance and posture.
